During Midsummer night, Jónsmessa, the boundaries between the human world and the supernatural world is blured, allowing elves and hidden people to become visible. Who knows what might be wandering around in Laufás.

One thing is certain: there will be music, a market, horses, and knowledge to be shared.

Young people will take over Laufás on Midsummer night. Akureyri’s summer artist will kick off the festival with a powerful nature dance in the courtyard. In Laufáskirkja, young musicians; Egill Andra and Eik Haralds, Ari Árelíus, Kusk, and Óviti will perform. Þröstur Ingvarsson will be here and there in the courtyard and the historical building of Laufás with his guitar, keeping the spirits high.

The horses from Pólarhestar are supernaturally good, as guests can see and experience in the courtyard.

A diverse group of northern Icelandic artisans and artists will be selling their products at the outdoor market, as good weather is always expected in Laufás.

Hopefully, there will be dew on the grass to roll in for good health. One thing is certain: the Jónsmessa at Laufás will be magnificent, even magical.

Admission to the event is free, thanks to the support of SSNE, the association of municipalities of Northeast Iceland.
